Notta AI Plans in 2026: Free, Pro, and Business Compared

Honestly, Notta's pricing page is vague enough.

How many minutes does the free plan give? How much is Pro per month? What the heck are AI Credits? I frowned three times when I first looked at it.

This post helps you skip the marketing fluff and directly understand—which plan you should choose, how much you'll pay, and whether it's worth it.

Free Plan: Try It Out, But Don't Expect Too Much

Notta's free plan gives you 200 minutes of transcription per month.

200 minutes sounds like a lot, but a typical meeting runs 30-40 minutes, so you can only transcribe about 5 meetings a month. If you also have lecture recordings or interviews to handle, you'll blow through it in about two weeks.

The free plan supports 58 languages, real-time transcription, AI summaries, and lets you upload audio files or paste YouTube links to transcribe. But note—advanced AI features (like AI brainstorming and longer summaries) consume AI Credits, and the free plan gives you very few credits. You'll probably run out after trying them once or twice.

Who it's for: Those who just want to experience what AI transcription feels like and occasionally transcribe a 5-minute clip. If you have meetings every week, I recommend going straight to Pro.

Pro Plan: The Sweet Spot for Most People

The Pro plan costs $8.17/month if billed annually (monthly billing is more expensive; the official site doesn't list the price, but I'd guess around $12-14).

The key is the minutes: 1,800 minutes per month.

1,800 minutes is roughly 1 hour of transcription per day, which is plenty for the average office worker, grad student, or entrepreneur. Plus, Pro gives you more AI Credits to use advanced "Notta Brain" features like auto-generated mind maps, more detailed summaries, and conversation analysis.

Another hidden perk: Pro allows larger file uploads (the free plan has a file size limit) and can handle longer recordings in one go. If you have a 2-hour lecture recording, the free plan might not even let you upload it.

Who it's for: Knowledge workers with 3-5 meetings a week, those who need to organize lecture recordings, or anyone who wants AI to help highlight key points.

Business Plan: For Teams, But I Think It's Overpriced

The Business plan costs $16.67/month per user if billed annually, with a minimum of 2 seats.

The pricing page just says "Unlimited," but it doesn't specify whether that means unlimited transcription minutes or unlimited AI Credits. Based on my experience, "Unlimited" usually refers to transcription minutes, but AI Credits still have a monthly cap—just much higher than Pro.

Business adds team management features, shared folders, role-based permissions, and priority support. If your team has 5+ people and you have client meetings to record every day, it might be worth it.

Otherwise, each person buying Pro separately might be cheaper, though you lose centralized management.

Who it's for: Teams of 10+ with tons of meetings, or companies that need centralized control over recording data.

Student Discount: Remember to Use Your School Email

Notta offers a discount for students and educators, but you need to sign up with a .edu email address, and the discount will be applied automatically at checkout. The exact discount isn't specified on the site, but it's usually around 20-30% off Pro.

My advice: after registering, don't rush to pay. Click on "Education Discount" on the pricing page, and the system will show you the actual price.

Payment Methods: Credit Card, App Store, Google Play

Notta's payment options are straightforward:

• Official website: Visa and Mastercard accepted, billed in USD.
• In-app purchases: Apple Pay for iPhone, Google Pay for Android. If you have Apple ID balance or gift cards, in-app purchase might be more cost-effective (saves on credit card foreign transaction fees).

Note that in-app prices are usually slightly higher than on the website because Apple and Google take a cut. If you're budget-conscious, paying by credit card on the official site for the annual Pro plan is the cheapest option.

What Are AI Credits? Are They a Hidden Cost?

AI Credits are Notta's unit for measuring consumption of "AI Brainstorming" features.

Each time you use AI summaries, mind map generation, or conversation analysis, credits are deducted. Both the free and Pro plans include a certain amount of free credits, but what happens when you run out? Notta doesn't currently sell credits separately; you just have to wait for the monthly reset or upgrade your plan.

From my testing, the Pro plan's allowance is enough for about 20-30 meetings per month under normal usage. If you go crazy hitting "Generate Summary" and analyze every minute of recording, you'll run out in about a week.

For normal use, it's sufficient, but don't treat it as an unlimited AI tool.

My Buying Recommendation

If you only occasionally transcribe a few minutes of audio, just play with the free plan—no need to spend money.

If you have meetings or lectures to organize every week, go straight for Pro at $8.17/month billed annually—it's a reasonable price in the current market. It's cheaper than Otter and slightly more expensive than Fireflies, but Notta has much better Chinese support than those two, so users in Taiwan (and Chinese speakers generally) should consider it first.

As for the Business plan, unless you're a manager who needs to control the entire team's recording data, start with individual Pro.

One final reminder: Notta claims 98% accuracy, and in my experience, it really does hit above 95% when the speaker is clear and there's no background noise. But when there's a mix of Taiwanese-accented Mandarin and English, or multiple people talking over each other, accuracy can easily drop to 80%. Don't overhype AI—always skim the transcript yourself for important content.
