LINE has never offered a direct way to download voice messages. Voice messages are stored within the chat and can be played anytime, but they can't be saved directly to your phone's gallery or file manager like photos or files. 1. File Format When you download LINE voice messages to your phone or computer, the files are typically saved as MP4 or M4A. If you need MP3, you'll have to use a separate converter—LINE doesn't convert files for you.

Step 4: Download the File In Keep, find the voice message, open it, and choose download or save. The file will be stored on your phone. iPhone users can find it in the "Downloads" section of the Files app; Android users will find it in the Downloads folder or file manager.
The advantage of this method is that you don't need to install any extra apps, but it only handles one message at a time and uses up Keep's storage space.

Method 2: Save Directly with the Share Feature
Another approach is to use the share feature to save the voice message directly to your phone's storage, bypassing Keep.
Step 1: Long-Press the Voice Message and Tap "Share" After selecting "Share," check the voice messages you want to save, then tap the "Share" button at the bottom.
Step 2: Choose a Save Location The system will prompt you to select a folder to save to; pick one and tap "Save."
Step 3: Confirm the File Has Been Downloaded Once done, go to your phone's file manager or the Files app to check—the voice file should be in the folder you selected.
This method is more direct than Keep and suits users who want to quickly download a single recording. However, it's still one at a time—no batch processing.
What About the Desktop Version?
If you primarily use LINE on your computer, the process is similar: long-press or right-click the voice message, choose "Save" or "Save As," and then pick a destination folder on your computer.
Note that when downloading voice messages to a Mac or iPhone, files are saved in MP4 or M4A format. If you need to play them on other devices or software, you may need to convert them to MP3 using a converter tool.
Post-Download Management Tips
Once you've downloaded your recordings, don't just leave them in the Downloads folder. These habits will help you find them later:
- Rename Immediately: LINE voice files often have names that are just strings of numbers or random characters. Rename them right away to something meaningful, like "2026-07-15_Boss_Instructions."
