Fireflies vs Notta: Quick Overview
Let's start with the decision focus: you're not choosing which one transcribes more accurately, but where the meeting content should go after the meeting ends.
Fireflies.ai is a meeting automation assistant, strong in automatically joining meetings, AI summaries, AskFred Q&A, and a large number of third-party integrations. Official annual pricing is roughly Free USD 0, Pro USD 10/seat/month, Business USD 19/seat/month, Enterprise USD 39/seat/month; however, its "unlimited transcription" is still subject to storage, upload speed, and AI Credit rules, so it shouldn't be understood as all capabilities being unlimited.
Notta leans toward a multi-platform transcription tool, covering file import, multilingual transcription, translation, and team plans. Official figures are Free 120 minutes per month, max 3 minutes per session; Pro annual billing is about USD 8.17/month, 1,800 minutes per month; Business annual billing is about USD 16.67/seat/month, offering unlimited transcription and usage reports.
Both are strong. The real question is: they each solve different stages of the process.

Dimension 1 | How Meetings Are Recorded
Fireflies' typical approach is to have a meeting bot join Zoom, Meet, or Teams as a participant, automatically recording and transcribing.
Notta also has a meeting bot, and supports uploading audio and video files, plus desktop and mobile apps.
Both are mature in this area.
But bots can be awkward in some situations. In a client meeting, an unfamiliar participant appears, and I have to explain it first. So I later switched to Tinrec desktop version, which directly captures computer system audio without inviting any bot into the meeting.
→ This dimension: all three methods can record, the difference is whether you want an extra person in the meeting.
Dimension 2 | After the Transcript, What Else Do You Have?
Fireflies produces summaries and action items, and has AskFred for Q&A, with good team analytics.
Notta emphasizes real-time transcription, multilingual support, translation, and turning recordings into reports, presentation outlines, follow-up emails, and other deliverable documents.
But what really changed my workflow was whether meeting content can continue to be processed. Tinrec, besides summaries, chapters, and to-dos, also offers AI Q&A for single or multiple meetings, then uses Agent post-processing to generate reports, tables, and documents, and exports to Notion, Google Docs, etc. for continued use.
→ This dimension: Fireflies leans toward meeting intelligence, Notta toward transcription and output, Tinrec fills the gap of "continue working after organizing."
Dimension 3 | Chinese and Multilingual Meetings
Notta has a good reputation for multilingual transcription, and source materials mention its ability to handle long recordings, translation, and mobile-to-web workflows.
Fireflies' strength is in English business meetings and sales scenarios; it has multilingual support, but Chinese meetings may not be its main battlefield.
My own projects often involve mixed Chinese-English discussions, and I need to see bilingual content in real time. Tinrec supports Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and multilingual meetings, allows switching between original, translated, or bilingual view during recording, and can maintain team hotwords for technical terms.

→ This dimension: Notta is solid in multilingual, Tinrec is closer to my needs for Chinese meetings and real-time bilingual.
Dimension 4 | Integrations and Workflow
Fireflies' integration capability is one of its biggest advantages, connecting to thousands of third-party apps through built-in integrations and Zapier.
Notta supports direct integrations with ClickUp, Notion, Pipedrive, Salesforce, Google Calendar, Slack, etc., and can connect to more apps via Zapier.
I won't compete hard here. My approach is to connect Tinrec's exports back to my original note and document workflow, and leave automation to Zapier.
→ This dimension: Fireflies and Notta tie, both integrations are mature.
Dimension 5 | Team Collaboration and Governance
Fireflies has mature team and enterprise capabilities; Notta's Business plan also offers role permissions and usage reports.
But if meeting data is to stay in the team long-term, I look at three things: who owns the data, who can use it, and what happens when people leave.
Tinrec's team version is an independent team space, with data owned by the team. Roles determine who can manage members and audit, seats determine whether one can record, upload, edit, and export; members without a seat can still view, play, and read team data. Admins can see usage trends and operation logs, and there's an audio recycle bin for accidental deletions. When a member leaves, their team resources need to be handed over to other active members.
→ This dimension: if the focus is team governance and data ownership, Tinrec's architecture is more complete.
What Are Their Unique Advantages?
Fireflies' unique advantages:
- Meeting automation and bot joining process are very mature, suitable for sales teams reviewing conversations.
- Broad integrations and ecosystem, connecting existing tools requires almost no extra effort.
Notta's unique advantages:
- Multilingual transcription, long recording processing, and translation are its strengths.
- Smooth mobile-to-web workflow, suitable for long-term individual use.
Tinrec's unique advantages:
- Desktop version records online meetings without a bot, no extra participant needed.
- Organizing experience for Chinese and mixed Chinese-English meetings, plus real-time bilingual view.
- Summaries, chapters, to-dos, Q&A, Agent post-processing, and multi-format export form one workflow.
- Team space, roles, seats, usage, and auditing form a governable data architecture.
Conclusion: Which Should You Choose?
- If you want meeting automation and sales analytics, and mainly English meetings → Fireflies is more suitable
- If you want multilingual transcription, long recordings, and translation, mostly for individual use → Notta is more suitable
- If you often have Chinese or mixed Chinese-English meetings and don't want to invite a bot → Tinrec
- If you care about whether meeting data can stay in the team and remain when members change → Tinrec team version
In one sentence: Fireflies and Notta are both good; they solve the "meeting recording" part. But for me, the real time-consuming part is what comes after recording.
Turning transcripts into data that can be queried, exported, and retained in the team—that's the workflow I want to keep.
Quick Start: 5 Steps
- Pick a 15-minute meeting and record once with the free quota.
- Check only one thing: whether Chinese and mixed Chinese-English in the transcript are correctly segmented.
- Run summary and to-dos once each, see if the action items can be sent directly to attendees.
- Export the results to your original note tool, confirm the workflow connects.
- If this workflow is for the team, first plan who is the owner, who needs seats, then invite members.
Test step by step, and you'll gradually master this method.
